The Harry Potter franchise, the book and film series, reveals a lot of important characters. Aside from Harry, Ron, and Hermione, there’s Hagrid, Severus Snape, He Who Must Not Be Named, Dobby, and a lot more. We missed out on someone, did we? Of course, Albus Dumbledore, but wait, will he be in Hogwarts Legacy though? This has been one of the questions since the reveal of this new Potter game. Albus Dumbledore in Hogwarts Legacy
Now that Hogwarts Legacy made its debut to gamers and Pottermores, more questions add up. See for yourself if your favorite Harry Potter character debut in the game, which honestly is unlikely. However, Albus Dumbledore should be one of the characters that people talk about in Hogwarts Legacy.
- Straightforwardly, no, there would be no Albus Dumbledore in the newest Potter game. It may be hard to believe but no Albus would be seen. The developers of Hogwarts Legacy mentioned that the game sets in the year 1890. By the time of Hogwarts Legacy, Albus still has not attended Hogwarts.
- Albus Dumbledore was born in 1881, so during the Legacy, he’s just a nine-year-old kid. Moreover, the professor’s first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry happened in 1892. This cemented the fact that players would not be seeing any glimpse of Albus in Legacy.
Other characters
Despite not seeing Dumbledore, you may see some ancestors of familiar names in the books and films. And since Albus would not be present, we can’t expect the other known professors in the game as well. No Snape, no McGonagall, no Lupin, no Hagrid, sad but let’s just rewatch the films to see them.
- Anyway, the following characters may be familiar to you. Here’s a list of Hogwarts Legacy professors, and some of them, you may actually know.
- Phineas Nigellus Black: Headmaster of the Slytherin house. If you know Sirius Black, you should know Phineas, his great-great-grandfather.
- Matilda Weasley: Transfiguration professor from the house of Gryffindor and a Deputy Headmistress. Her last name sounds familiar? Bingo, she’s an ancestor to Ron and his siblings.

- Abrahan Ronen: From the Slytherin house, this professor teaches the subject of Charms.
- Aesop Sharp: This professor teaches you in Hogwarts Legacy the subject of Potions, from the house of Slytherin.
- Eleazar Fig: A Magical Theory Professor from the house of Gryffindor.
- Dinah Hecat: This Defence of the Dark Arts professor hails from the house of Ravenclaw.
- Mirabel Garlick: A Hufflepuff Professor that teaches Herbology in Hogwarts.
More about Hogwarts Legacy
Basically, almost, if not all, characters that you can meet in the Legacy would be the first time you see them. The developers took the plot into their own hands, however, the magical world should be rooted in J.K. Rowling’s vision of the Wizarding World. Well, meet the new characters of Harry Potter in Hogwarts Legacy!
- On Hogwarts Legacy’s official website, it states the original story of the game. Players will experience life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s as they embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world. They will grow their magical abilities by mastering spells, brewing potions, taming magical beasts, and more.
Hogwarts Legacy dropped on February 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. It arrives on April 10 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on July 25 on Nintendo Switch. We’ll probably see Albus and the rest of the present characters in some other games, perhaps another game after this Hogwarts Legacy. Let’s wait for that!
