Home Alone 3 might have been released in 1997, but the movie is now going viral after a 2024 trailer has been revealed online. The preview, titled Home Alone 3 – Kevin’s Revenge, features a grown-up Kevin still living in his parents’ iconic house with his wife and receiving a Christmas card from the Wet Bandits, Marv Murchins and Harry Lyme. Home Alone 3 (2024) Trailer Breakdown
Sorry, guys, but the viral Home Alone 3 trailer isn’t real and is only made up by the YouTuber @VJ4rawr2, who’s known for making mock-up trailers. Hence, no new Home Alone movie featuring the original lead star, Macaulay Culkin, is coming up anytime soon.
The mock-up trailer features a fictional Home Alone film set in 2024 and sees the Wet Bandits now out of prison.
The preview begins with Kevin receiving a card from the criminal duo that read, “We’re back little buddy.” The scene then shifts to outside the house, where Kevin spots the familiar Oh-Kay Plumbing and Heating van.
“This holiday season, it’s time to rediscover a classic. Kevin Mcallister is back – except this family is a little weird around Christmas,” a voiceover says.
Kevin is then seen telling his mom, played by Catherine O’Hara, that he had to defend their house when they left him home alone. “That day you left, I had to defend our house,” he said. “I was just a kid; you left me home alone.”
Later, Harry and Marv were released from prison, with the former telling his sidekick that he had always thought about the “kid” every day as she sat in jail. “He’s going to pay,” he warns.
But Kevin is ready for what’s to come, declaring he must defend their house for his family. As the spoof trailer reveals Kevin is preparing for his final showdown, he ends up in the news, with the anchor saying he has set up booby traps composed of guns, explosives, and even tarantulas, while a SWAT team is already on the way.
As the police are being called, one of them happens to be Kevin’s older brother, Buzz (Devin Ratray). His superior warns that two more senior adults are being shot, lit on fire, and struck with objects, but he couldn’t care less as he had already heard a similar story before, knowing it was his brother.
“Nice try, Kevin. Nice try,” he said.
Sadly, no matter how the trailer looks original, it’s made up using various scenes from other films and TV shows. The YouTuber also nails it by choosing the right voiceover artists.
Will There Be Another Home Alone Movie?
So far, there are no words about whether there will be another Home Alone movie, so it may be far from happening. Though the film has seen many iterations, with the latest one, Home Sweet Home Alone, released in 2021, nothing hits like the original.
The closest thing to a new Home Alone film is the Google ad that sees Macaulay Culkin reprising his role as a grown-up Kevin, making it more modern as he now gets the help of a Google Assistant.
