Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 – Release Date, New Characters, and More

Listen up, Trailblazers! It’s time to suit up and get ready as HoYoverse has announced the release date, new characters, and more exciting details about Honkai: Star Rail 1.2. With the Xianzhou Luofu arc coming to a close, what can Trailblazers expect once the new version rolls in? Here is everything you need to know about Honkai: Star Rail 1.2. Let’s get into it!

Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 is the end of the Xianzhou Luofu story arc

As they say, all good things must come to an end. We are going out with a bang with the Xianzhou Luofu arc coming to a close in the version 1.2 update for Honkai: Star Rail. Now that Dan Heng is back with the tough crew of the Astral Express, they must band together to power through battles that await them in two new areas introduced in the game.

Aside from areas, the version 1.2 update also adds new characters to the ever-growing character roster of Honkai: Star Rail. Two five-star characters from the Event Warps in Star Rail will be available: Blade and Kafka. Although these two are considered the villains in the story, maybe this is the time for them to prove us wrong once and for all.

Two new areas are coming to Honkai: Star Rail 1.2

As we are nearing the end of our journey on the Xianzhou Luofu with the Alliance, two new areas will open up for Trailblazers to explore. The Alchemy Commission and Scalegorge Waterscape are two places where Trailblazers can put their fighting skills to the test.

New Characters

Three new characters will join the playable roster in Honkai: Star Rail. The two five-star characters will be Blade and Kafka, two members of the notorious group called the Stellaron Hunters. As for the new four-star, Luka will finally become obtainable through the limited-time Event Warps during this update.

Blade

Blade is one of the powerful Stellaron Hunters that Kafka was rescuing at the start of the Xianzhou Luofu arc. When he joins, Trailblazers will get to know more about his backstory, including how his curse of having eternal life came to be.

This character will have the following characteristics:

• Follow the Path of Destruction
• Be a five-star Wind-type Character
• Great DPS character for players who need a dependable damage dealer
• His playstyle will be similar to Genshin Impact’s Hu Tao, as both of these characters sacrifice their HP in order to boost their damage output

Kafka

Kafka is one of the familiar faces in the game. At the start, before either Stelle or Caelus are activated, she is the one who infiltrates Herta Space Station alongside Silver Wolf. In the next major update for Honkai: Star Rail, Kafka finally becomes playable, and she brings with her a deadly arsenal of Lightning skills.

She will have the following characteristics:

• Follow the Path of Nihility
• Be a five-star Lightning-type Character
• She can fill the DPS role in your team, but take note that she deals DoT (damage over time)

Luka

One of the characters first introduced during the Summer Game Fest last month, Luka becomes playable once Honkai: Star Rail version 1.2 is released. For those of you who don’t know him, Luka is a member of Wildfire and is Oleg’s apprentice. We may be able to get to know more about his story in the coming update.

Luka will have the following characteristics:

• Follow the Path of Nihility
• Be a four-star Physical-type Character
• He can be a great support for Kafka as they both apply DoT to the enemies

New Events

More new content coming to Honkai: Star Rail version 1.2 are events where you can get free Stellar Jades! Here is a brief overview of the events coming in the next update:

• Tales of the Fantastic
  • Mr. Xiyan of Starskiff Haven wants to know more about the Astral Express’s adventures across the planets
• Underground Treasure Hunt
  • Look for relics in this challenge in order to gain the special themed Chat Box reward
• The Voyage of Navis Astringer (Forgotten Hall segment)
  • Once Trailblazers complete Stage 1 of this new segment, they will be rewarded with the four-star character Yukong
• Simulated Universe updates
  • The Simulated Universe will receive an update to include new Ornaments and the new World 7

When is the release date for Honkai: Star Rail 1.2?

Trailblazers won’t have to wait any longer as HoYoverse will release Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 on July 19, 2023. A day before the update goes live, you can already download the pre-installation to immediately play the game once July 19 comes.

Honkai: Star Rail is currently available on the PC, Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android. According to HoYoverse, they will be bringing the game over to the PlayStation 5 later this year.
