How to travel from the United States?

Although a world tour is unlikely and not planned as of now, that shouldn’t stop you if you’re enthusiastic about visiting Japan. US Citizens can freely travel to Japan, and we already covered how to travel to the country here. Last month Japan opened its borders for a visa-free visit for tourists globally.

  • In what can be considered the lenient border opening after a few of the harshest nationwide COVID measures, Japan is all set for tourism.
  • In a report, Japan’s Kyodo News also informs that the state no longer enforces a 50,000 cap and ended the tourist restrictions of having to travel in groups. Meaning you can wander around alone if you have to.

What about the return back home?

As of June 12, 2022, the CDC has confirmed that negative COVID-19 test results are no longer mandatory for travel to Japan. Documentation showing recovery of the same is also not required prior to boarding a flight back to the United States.
