India vs. New Zealand Women 3rd ODI: NZ Leads Series 3-0

India women’s cricket team needs to make a comeback after a terrific loss in the first two ODIs. The New Zealand team is in great form. The 3rd ODI was held at John Davies Oval, Queenstown on 18 February 2022.  Everyone was hoping for the comeback of India.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl.

India started off their innings well. There was a mind-blowing partnership between the openers. The first wicket fell at 100. S. Meghana scored 61 in just 41 balls. The other opener, Shafali Verma also scored a fabulous half-century but unfortunately got out just after reaching the milestone.

Thereafter continuous wicket fell at the quick interval. But Deepti Sharma kept on fighting. She remained unbeaten and scored 69 runs. With this brilliant knock, India set a target of 280 in front of New Zealand.

New Zealand wanted to keep their winning spirit on. But India tried to make their comeback.

They strike in the first over. Jhulan Goswami took S. Devine on the 3rd ball. She also took Suzie Bates in the 3rd over. New Zealand was in trouble after losing their both openers.

A good partnership develops between Amelia Kerr and Amy Satterthwaite to save New Zealand. They both broke India’s dream of winning the match. Lauren Down scored 69 runs and finishes the game for New Zealand by 3 wickets.

By winning this match New Zealand sealed the ODI series by 3-0. India women must have won the next matches to maintain their reputation.
