India vs. West Indies Third T20: India Makes Clean Sweep

The third T20 was a very important match for the Caribbeans. They must have won this match to save themselves from a clean sweep in the T20 series too. Virat Kohli and Rishabh have been given break from the bio bubble. This was a much-needed break for them. Now it was easy for the Caribbeans to defeat the Indians.

However, India on Sunday defeated West Indies by 17 runs in the third and final T20I at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Some new players got a chance to play in the third T20.

Ruturaj Gaikwad got the chance to open the inning with Ishan Kishan. Unfortunately, they both couldn’t score a good knock. The early fall of wickets made the Caribbeans excited. Ruturaj got out for just 4 runs.

Ishan Kishan scored 34 runs and got out by Roston Chase. More two wickets fall in quick succession. Thereafter comes the tremendous Surya Kumar Yadav innings of 65 runs including 7 huge sixes and 1 four. Along with him, Venkatesh Iyer was blasting against the Caribbean bowlers. He scored 35 runs. With these two beautiful knocks, India set a target of 185 for the West Indies.

West Indies Poor Form Continues

The target of 185 wasn’t big for the mighty West Indies. But the swing bowler Deepak Chahar is known for his swing and early wicket-taking ability. He took the opener, Kyle Mayers in the first over. Thereafter in the third over he took the dangerous batsmen Shai Hope. Wickets started falling in quick succession. The only survivor was Nicholas Pooran. He made 61 runs. But ultimately West Indies lost the match as well series.

Surya Kumar Yadav becomes the player of the match as well as the player of the series. After this clean sweep, India reaches the top of the ICC rankings in the T20s.
