IPL 2022: Jason Roy Pulls Out Of The IPL

England opener Jason Roy has pulled himself out of the IPL 2022. This is a great blow for the new franchise, Gujarat Titans. They had brought him for INR 2 crores (USD 266,000) in the IPL Mega Auction 2022. Jason stated that his unavailability is due to the extended bio-bubble stay. This would have kept him away from his family, which includes his newborn baby, for more than two months. Moreover, he has spent in PSL also away from his family.

This is not the first time Jason Roy pulled himself out of IPL.

In 2020, Delhi Capitals picked up Roy for his then base price of INR 1.5 crore, but he opted out for personal reasons. He made his debut in IPL in 2017 when Gujarat Lions brought him as an opener. Gujarat Titans would have been the fourth franchise for Jason Roy.
