The IPL auction 2022 was held at the Hotel ITC Gardenia, in Bengaluru on February 12th and the 13th is finally over. There was a total of 600 players registered in the auction. Total 10 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 franchises were engaged in an intense bidding war in the two-day event to acquire their favorite players. However, as we all know that all players can’t be sold in the auction. Only 204 were sold, including 67 overseas players.
The young guns got a fantastic bid from all the teams. Ishan Kisan, Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer were the top 3 most expensive players of the season. Moreover, Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped player and Liam Livingstone was the most expensive overseas player.

However, some players who were out of form last season went unsold this auction. Veteran players like Imran Tahir, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Aaron Finch, and Eoin Morgan as they remained unsold despite having a lot of experience.
Moreover, Mr. IPL, Suresh Raina, has also gone unsold. He has scored 5528 runs at an average of 32.51 and a strike rate of 136.76. Chennai Super Kings had left 2 crores in their purse but didn’t make a single for Suresh Raina.
