Is BTS Jimin victim of US Billboard charts? ARMYs criticize alleged filtering of Like Crazy streams

ARMYs demand transparancy for FACE Like Crazy

Fans of BTS’ Jimin took over Twitter for the past few days to demand an explanation from the US Billboard charts. They trended various hashtags calling Billboard corrupt and guilty of racism as they demanded transparency about their criteria. As Jimin’s solo Like Crazy slipped out of the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

This news came as a shock to his fans who were expecting to see Jimin remain in the Top 10. Rumors of US Billboard charts allegedly changing their criteria for measuring the popularity of songs went viral across various platforms. ARMYs accused the platform of being biased, xenophobic, and corrupt as they demanded to know the reasons behind the sudden change.

BTS Jimin lose US billboard Top 10 Hot 100 charts

BTS Jimin became the first Korean solo artist to top Billboard’s Hot 100

Last week, fans of BTS’ Jimin celebrated the historical record of the artist topping the Hot 100 chart. On April 3, 2023, Jimin’s first solo album FACE‘s title track Like Crazy surpassed Miley Cyrus’s Flowers and took the number one spot on Billboard.

However, the celebration was short-lived as his song Like Crazy slipped out of the Top 10 the following week altogether. This drastic change was shocking for his fans, to say the least.

ARMYs suspected some foul play from the US Billboard charts.

They accused Billboard of allegedly filtering streams and deleting 100K units of Jimin’s Like Crazy album sales.

They also accused of Billboard pre-planning the action to not let the singer top the charts again.

BTS’ Jimin continues to dominate Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart

Jimin continues to dominate the Digital Song Sales chart for the third consecutive week with Like Crazy. According to Luminate, the Serendipity singer sold 14,800 copies of the much-loved song in its second week of charting. It is nominal in comparison to the first week’s 241,000 sales nevertheless it’s big enough to retain the number one spot.

For the Billboard Global chart excluding the United States, Jimin’s Like Crazy is maintaining its position as number three. The top two spots are taken by Miley Cyrus’s Flowers and BLACKPINK Jisoo’s Flower respectively.

Like Crazy is also charting in fourth place on Billboard’s 200 charts following Flowers by Miley Cyrus, Flower by BLACKPINK Jisoo, and Die For You by The Weeknd and Ariana Grande.
