Then on August 31, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced the new travel restrictions. They are now going to allow non-escorted visitors to enter Japan. This means that foreign travelers can enter even if they are not part of any group tours. However, there are other things that they must abide by in this latest policy.

All the non-escorted visitors on package tours are only allowed if their flights and accommodations are made through a travel agency. Tourist individuals can now go without having any group tours. So remember to only go in accommodations offered by travel agencies or else you won’t be permitted to enter.

This latest policy is also to give more freedom traveling in Japan according to a government official. In addition, Japan is strict with having a sponsor and travel agency because they need to know the travelers. As this is also their safety measure, especially for contact tracing.
