Is there going to be an “Everything Everywhere All At Once” 2?

Everything Everywhere All At Once

“Everything Everywhere All At Once” surprised everybody during the 95th Academy Awards by taking 7 awards. The 2022 fiction film was a huge hit and gathered tons of awards after its release. Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis, and others did a great job which resulted in the movie’s great success. However, people who watched the film seem to want more. As fans of the movie eagerly await news of a potential sequel, the question on everyone’s minds is: will there be an “Everything Everywhere All At Once” 2?

Any chance for Everything Everywhere All At Once part 2?

If you are wondering if Everything Everywhere All At Once would get a sequel, we are thinking of the same thing. Of course, we definitely hope so! However, the directors (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) of the film said that there are still no plans for a sequel despite its critical acclaim and success. Last year, when Indie Wire reported about a teaser, the “Daniels” quickly debunked that theory via their Twitter account.

In addition to that, during a red-carpet interview at the BAFTA awards, Michelle Yeoh told the media that there won’t be a sequel. The veteran actress simply said “No” when asked about a possible part 2 for Everything Everywhere All At Once. However, she added “maybe a spinoff”, suggesting that we could probably see her as Evelyn Wang again in the future.

Today, the movie went to one of the biggest film awarding ceremonies, the 2023 Oscars. The film and the cast made a night to be remembered by winning a total of 7 trophies in the 95th academy awards. Michelle Yeoh wins Best Actress and becomes the first Asian actress to do so. Her husband in the film, Ke Huy Quang, also wins Best Supporting Actor while Jamie Lee Curtis wins Best Supporting Actress. The filmmakers, the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) were selected as the Best Director. Moreover, the film itself received awards like Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.

With its extreme success and popularity, there is no denying fans of the movie deserve more of the MultiVerse filled with varieties of Evelyn Wang. There is an infinite possibility for another story and we hope the “Daniels” hear our prayers. Michelle Yeoh said she wanted a spinoff where she plays Evelyn Wang again but in a rock star variant. Could anything even beat that?
