The LGBTQ+ community is all set to ‘cancel’ popular Twitch streamer Nadia Amine after she seemingly made fun of them in a controversial TikTok video. In the video which has now gone viral, she jokingly suggests that members of the community are not accurate shooters in Call of Duty. Fellow streamers, TikTok users and Warzone players have called her out for her comments.
Interestingly, Nadia herself is queer and that appears to be more reason for the LGBTQ+ community to cancel her. The controversial Call of Duty streamer has addressed the accusations against her but not to great effect. And it’s not the first time that the 22-year-old faces online criticism. Nadia has been regularly accused of cheating in Call of Duty and she has even been banned from Twitch a few times.
Exploring the controversial video where Nadia poked fun at the LGBTQ+ community
In the controversial TikTok video, Nadia goes through and explains how each different type of Call of Duty player shoots, including casual gamers and herself. However, when she gets to the LGBTQ+ community, she includes footage of her firing off bullets randomly and missing each target completely while joking that they cannot shoot straight because they are queer.

However, it is understandable why some individuals could misunderstand the video and interpret Nadia’s comments differently. At plain sight, it implies that members of the LGBTQ+ community are incapable of playing Call of Duty.
Many TikTok users and streamers have called out Nadia for her video, with some suggesting that it is homophobic and insensitive. Some have pointed out that the joke made by Nadia in her TikTok video is a play on words with the term “straight”.
How did Nadia respond to facing cancel threats on TikTok?
Nadia has responded to the controversy on both Twitch and TikTok. She expressed her frustration at being called out and suggesting that she is being targeted because she is a woman.

In her Twitch stream, Nadia said that she has “never seen a bigger witch-hunt” and that “people find anything.” She also called out fellow TikToker Noah Glenn Carter for duetting her initial video and criticizing her joke.
Nadia’s response to the controversy has also been met with criticism, with some suggesting that she is being defensive and not taking responsibility for her actions. Her comment about her uncle’s dog being gay has also been met with confusion. Many have pointed out that it is not a valid defense against accusations of homophobia.
Social media reactions to the Twitch streamer’s LGBTQ+ controversy
The controversy surrounding Nadia’s TikTok video is proof of the gray area around insensitive content on social media platforms. Some argue that Nadia’s video was harmless and meant as a joke. Others suggest that it perpetuates harmful stereotypes and reinforces discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community.
Known for her Warzone streaming videos, Nadia gained a following on TikTok for her videos showcasing her skills as a player. However, she has also faced accusations of using aimbot assist, which she has since turned into a joke since.
