Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console for the month of May with over 141,953 units sold followed by the PlayStation 4 with a sales count of 49,205. Including May’s figures, Nintendo Switch has been the market leader for 15 consecutive months.
In terms of software, the total sales of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have crossed 3,094,000 surpassing the cumulative total of Splatoon 2, i.e., 307.3 million, becoming the best-selling game on Switch.
Days Gone has topped the sales charts in Japan for its second consecutive month. Despite mixed critic reviews, the game has been performing well in terms of sales.
As reported by Famitsu, 56,689 copies of Days Gone were sold during the month of May. The first-party exclusive title was followed by Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with a sales count of 51,011. In the third position stood Minecraft for the Switch with over 42,774 units sold, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe in the fourth and fifth positions with 40,605 and 36,329 units sold respectively.
