After a hard-fought and extremely tight competition for the NBA Scoring Champion Award, Joel Embiid finally saw the end of the rainbow.

With a season average of 30.6 points a night, the Sixers’ superstar big man is now named the 2022 NBA Scoring Champion. It was very close, with LeBron James just falling short with 30.3 PPG. Also, Giannis Antetokounmpo was flirting with the award but was shy of about 0.7 points (29.9 PPG). This was the closest battle for the award since it was introduced.

Just to add, Embiid is also the first-ever international player that won this award. Now that is an achievement!

Jojo has been playing his best basketball this season. Without a doubt, he has been carrying the whole Sixers organization and is proving that “The Process” is working. Not only did he secure the bag as the scoring champ, but the 28-year-old center is also a frontrunner for the 2022 MVP award.

His scoring ability is almost second to none.

As he said in the past, he can be a scary offensive weapon and become whoever he wants – a slasher, a post-up guy, a knockdown three-pointer, or a drive-by penetrator, you name it and Embiid will give it to you.

“Whenever I want, I’m able to be Shaq. And whenever I want, I’m also able to be Dirk or Kobe or MJ, guards really. Shooting off the dribble, pull-ups, or ball-handling, just a combination of everything offensively.”

The NBA Playoffs are coming to town. With Embiid and Harden leading the way, the Sixers will be facing a tough Toronto Raptors team in the first round. Will they finally have a deep playoff run? They did choke against Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks last year. We hope they don’t do it again in their next matchups.

Is Joel Embiid the next face of the NBA? Can he bring another chip in Philadelphia in the future? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. For more content, stay with us, here at Spiel Times.
