It seems Justin Long and Kate Bosworth have been married for over a month after the couple made their engagement public. The actor revealed a new detail regarding his and Bosworth’s relationship status in an episode of the Life is Short podcast that aired on May 9. Long announced that he and Bosworth had become spouses, referring to her as his “now-wife.”
The Live Free or Die Hard actor talked about his time in Bulgaria, where he and his wife worked on the Barbarian movie, and disclosed his new position as a husband. “I was there while I was really falling in love with my now-wife,” he told guest Kyra Sedgwick. “She came to visit, and I had never been comfortable with…set visits. I like to separate the relationships… But, yeah, I loved having her there, and we just had the most magical time.”
Kate Bosworth and Justin Long are finally married
Recently, on a podcast, the Accepted actor said that he had married the love of his life, Kate Bosworth. While talking about their work together, he stated that “It helped me having her there. She’d help me with scenes. It was the best.”
During an Amazon Live video on Instagram with Justin on May 15, Kate Bosworth, 40, also appeared to confirm the marriage by revealing a peek of her putative wedding band, which was worn with her engagement ring.
Justin Long only recently announced the couple’s engagement and wedding after romance rumors first surfaced in January 2022.
On April 4, he added a caption to an image of Kate’s enormous engagement ring on Instagram. The caption read, “She said YES… to being a guest on @lifeisshortpodcast! And to other slightly more life-changing questions”.
“I feel eternally grateful that I found a partner who makes each day SO full, whose mere presence IS a reminder of the beauty and brevity of life, and who makes me laugh from the minute we wake up til the one I begrudgingly fall asleep. I cherish the days we’ve had and the ones to come”, he also wrote.
However, details of the wedding are not available yet as requests for comment made on Monday by PEOPLE were not promptly fulfilled.
Kate and Justin’s engagement
More than a year after they first ignited romance rumors, the couple announced their engagement on an episode of the Life is Short podcast in April while enjoying time together in Los Angeles.
The couple also spoke to PEOPLE about their engagement during their first public outing as a married couple on April 20. “I thought it was the most romantic and honest and loving proposal,” Bosworth explained Long’s proposal.
Long asserted on his own that the time “felt so organic” and “connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through — like, a real-life change — and so it came out in a very organic way.”
The actor claimed he had something special prepared for Bosworth’s 40th birthday in January. However, he clarified, “Things change, and sometimes they change pretty drastically without any warnings.”
“I remember waking up not so many mornings after that therapy session, and I looked at Justin … I smiled at you, and I said, ‘What do you need?'” Bosworth continued. “And he really looked at me, and he said, ‘To spend my life with you.'”
“And I smiled, and I said, ‘Well, yeah, you have that. Oh my gosh, you have that,’ and he said, ‘No, I mean I really want to spend my life with you,'” she recalled.
“It was the easiest … the words just came out, like, so naturally,” Long added.
