January has just started and K-pop has been on fire ever since. SM’s joint supergroup, GOT The Beat came back at the start of the month with their 1st mini album “Stamp On It”. The young 4th generation girl group, NewJeans dropped their 1st single “OMG”. So if you haven’t caught up with the oh-so-many comebacks (and debuts) this month, then here’s a list of what to expect this January 2023 in the world of K-pop. January 20th

  • JYP Entertainment’s 3rd generation girl group, TWICE (Hangul: 트와이스) drops their second English song, and a pre-release track entitled MOONLIGHT SUNRISE. The nine-member girl group consists of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Momo, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. Are you ready for another English bop, international ONCEs?

  • Amoeba Culture sets to release THESEED’s 5th project with artists toigo, GONEISBACK, NSW Yoon, Roh Yunha, and XINSAYNE. Catch their track ‘Hop On The Truck’ on Friday at 6 PM Korean Standard Time (KST).

25th

  • SUPER JUNIOR’s main vocalist Yesung (예성) slates the release of his solo 1st album titled Sensory Flows on Wednesday, January 25th. The 2nd generation idol dropped its teasers, album details, and medley on SUPER JUNIOR’s official accounts.
  • Moreover, a new girl group named MAVE debuts on this same day. Their 1st single album “PANDORA’S BOX” comes to the K-pop world. Share your thoughts with us when you listen to the newest four-member girl group!
  • Source Music’s girl group — LE SSERAFIM (Hangul: 르세라핌) — makes their Japanese debut with the same track as their Korean debut, “FEARLESS”. Miyawaki Sakura, Kim Chaewon, Huh Yunjin, Nakamoto Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae would go FEARLESS once again for their fandom, FEARNOTs.

26th

  • Soloist Lee Seung Yoon (Hangul: 이승윤) releases his second full-length album with the title 꿈의 거처. The official music video teaser dropped on 1theK’s YouTube channel a few days ago. You can watch the teaser below!

27th

  • With the recently finished world tour, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (투모로우바이투게더) returns with a hint of nature and a dreamy comeback on the 27th. The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION has three concept teasers for MOAs: Daydream, Nightmare, and Farewell. Now, what’s your favorite concept among the three? Oh, they recently dropped their track list, check it out too, MOAs!

28th

  • WEVEs, do you think you can survive ONEWE’s upcoming 1st full English album? We don’t think we can, their album titled GRAVITY comes on January 28th. The 3rd generation alternative rock band from Rainbow Bridge World (RBW) gears up to reach their fans worldwide with this album.

30th

  • Furthermore, SM Entertainment’s NCT 127 comes back with their 4th album repackage entitled ‘Ay-Yo’. The nine-member boy group continues their world tour until the 28th, just before the album release. NCTzens, get ready for new dance steps to memorize, better stretch now!
  • One of the two debuts on this day happens to be 8TURN’s. A new boy group set to turn the world with their 1st mini album called 8TURNRISE. You got it right if you said that this boy group has eight members. Get to know Myungho, Jaeyun, Minho, Yoonsung, Haemin, Kyungmin, Yungyu, and Seungheon on the 30th!

  • Another boy group introduces themselves as Boy By Brush (BXB) on this day. The five-member boy group dropped their high school concept photos for their 1st album ‘Flight and a new beginning’. BXB consists of Jihun, Hyunwoo, Siwoo, Hamin, and June. Got time to stan another group? Maybe you’ll jam to their music!

31st

  • To end this list (and the month), the old rookies, VIVIZ (비비지) makes their third comeback with 3rd mini album ‘VarioUS’. The elegant black-and-white and blue concept photos surely lure you into a dark, balanced with a colorful and somehow sexy concept. Na.Vs, do you think you can handle Eunha, SinB, and Umji’s charm in this album? We are certainly uncertain if we can be ready for it!
