After Rollin’ became viral, Brave Girls rose to popularity in South Korea in 2021. They promoted the 2017 song again in music shows, performed in different festivals, and received numerous trophies in year-end award ceremonies. However, this February 2023, Brave Entertainment announced that Brave Girls decided to part ways with the agency which led to disbanding the group. What happened to Brave Girls, and meet their new K-pop group name – BB Girls!
What happened to Brave Girls after disbanding
Brave Girls‘ final song, Goodbye, was a heartfelt tribute to their devoted fanbase, who they affectionately refer to as FEARLESS. The title of the song speaks volumes, as it was their way of saying farewell to the fans who had stood by them through thick and thin.
The four members of the group poured their hearts and souls into the song, delivering a touching farewell letter through the lyrics. The track was more than enough for the special bond between the group and their fans, just before they disbanded.
However, with the recent surprise, Brave Girls once again plan to release new music altogether. Yes, the four members signed with Warner Music Korea as a full group. In the last week of April, South Korean media outlets reported that the members return and remain as a four-member girl group in the K-pop industry.

BB Girls: The new group name
Along with the news of signing with a new agency, we need to bid goodbye to Brave Girls. While Brave Entertainment could have the girl group’s name trademarked, the birth of a new group name for the Brave Girls came. Instead of calling them the Brave Girls, fans should familiarize themselves with the BB Girls!
Just on Wednesday, May 3, Warner Music Korea warmly introduced the BB Girls. According to a translated statement from Warner Music Korea via Soompi, “We have come to an agreement with the members while prioritizing full-group activities.”
With this exclusive contract signing, Minyoung took it upon Instagram to hint to fans about an upcoming and possible June release! She writes that they are preparing to greet fans in the nearing summer of 2023. Furthermore, she thanked the fans for their support following their disbandment.
More about the BB Girls
Brave Girls debuted way back in 2011. Back then, the current members have not joined the line-up yet. Although, in 2016, a reorganization happened to the group, wherein Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna finally stepped into the Brave Girls. Originally, the girl group consists of seven members. The agency also referred to them as the ‘second generation of Brave Girls’. Unfortunately, in late 2016, three members left.
In 2017, the remaining four members released the group’s fourth mini album entitled Rollin’. In 2018, a new version of the specific track dropped. Here comes 2020 when Brave Girls released a single entitled ‘We Ride’.
- After rising in 2021, they released a few more music before officially leaving Brave Entertainment. Member Yujeong also revealed in March 2021 that the members thought of disbanding shortly before Rollin’ became huge and viral.
- The four-member girl group even joined Mnet’s survival show Queendom 2, which premiered in March 2022. They may have finished in last place in the show, but they garnered a lot of fans during the show’s duration. With their summer vibes and amazing vocals, we’re excited about what the BB Girls has in store for us soon!
BB Girls will always be one of the inspirations of the idols in the industry that as long as you’re passionate, great things may come. Congratulations, BB Girls!
