Kena: Bridge of Spirits from the Ember Lab studio will be one of the biggest releases coming up. The title is set to release on the 21st of September for PC, PS4, and PS5. The debut title from Ember Lab is picking up interest, primarily due to its animation style and artistic design.

With the release date approaching, there has been more information that is coming out, and it is only getting us more excited! Tod Fennel, the voice actor behind Taro has recently given an interview with Gaming Bolt. He shared some details of the development process and his thoughts on the game.

Tod Fennel talked about the variety of scenarios available in the game, and the ability of the game to go from a “lighthearted feel too intense boss battles” smoothly and quickly.  He has said that the “impressive use of visual and musical options” has made this possible, allowing players to experience different environments within the game.

When asked about the storytelling style, which not only pits players against characters but also allows the player to explore what brought that character to the other side of the field, Fennel explained that the developer has taken their time to build an incredible game that has a “very heart-centered story” with each character’s history well developed in great depth.

“Kind and Accessible”

Fennel stated that Ember Lab was “very kind and accessible”, giving the players all the time they needed in order to bring out their best and that it had generated a lot of anticipation and excitement in him at the very start. He said that he could feel that “something about this game was very special given the depth of the character development.”

“It’s an amazing game that’s going to surprise a lot of people. The depth of the characters, the attention to detail, and the visuals will have people begging for a sequel. Fingers crossed!” – Tod Fennel
