Kevin Durant’s Efficient 38-Piece Nets Win Over the Blazers

Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets faced off against the Portland Trail Blazers last night. The Nets, which is led by Kevin Durant and Seth Curry managed to take the win against the Portland Trail Blazers, 128-123.

KD was shooting the ball efficiently that night, putting up 38 huge points in 11 for 15 shooting. Seth Curry, the Nets starting shooting guard was playing like an All-Star. He scored 27 points and shot 64% from beyond the arc (7 for 11). There’s no doubt that Seth is really a CURRY!

Josh Hart, Brandon Williams, and Drew Eubanks all had a great night for the Blazers. Hart had 25 points and 7 assists, Williams tallied 24 points and 6 rebounds, while Eubanks had 18 points and 6 boards.

Blazers are currently on the 12th spot in the Western Conference and are almost out of playoff contention.

SPIEL TIMES HOT TAKE ON THE NETS WIN

The Good:

  • The Nets’ offensive firepower is unstoppable (with KD, Curry, and Drummond on the floor)
  • Brooklyn was outrebounding the opposing team (Blazers)
  • They were shooting lights out from three (40.0%)
  • Great ball movement. They had great looks for easy baskets in the paint (for Drummond and Claxton)
  • Bruce Brown was a huge part of the Nets’ victory. He was confident and was everywhere on the court (scoring, picking pockets, rebounding)

The Bad and the Ugly:

  • They were outhustled by the Blazers in defense. The Nets posted 21 turnovers that game, which does not look good.
  • Brooklyn Nets lack a go-to guy for perimeter defense. As good as Curry and Dragic are, they are sometimes defensive liabilities.
  • They almost lost to a Blazers team without Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simmons, and Jusuf Nurkic, three of their best players.

It was a very close game, and the Blazers could have won this game. But, kudos to the Nets for rallying in the offense after being down by more than 20 points. Either way, a win is a win. Nets are now on the 8th seed in the East (37-34) after this win.
