While on the other hand, Messi’s other biggest rival Cristiano Ronaldo, and his partner Georgina Rodriguez picked up a $10 million deal with Netflix. These announcements of the series have caused quite a stir among football and animation fans alike.

  • According to Deadline, the show will feature a young Messi who navigates through a video game while encountering different obstacles. Sony artists will compose original music for the show as well.
  • Currently, in development, the series targets a younger audience and will be suitable for viewing by global audiences. Which will be available in English, Spanish, and other languages.

In a statement, Messi expressed his excitement about the upcoming animated series that portrays his life. He said:

“Since I was a kid, I’ve always loved animated series and my kids are big fans of animated characters. Being able to participate in an animation project makes me happy because it fulfills one of my dreams. I would like to thank Sony Music for joining this project and we hope that everyone will like the result, especially the girls and the boys.”

How much can Messi earn from this series?

Reportedly, Lionel Messi, who has already worked on two other audiovisual projects, stands to earn over $22 million. Only if he decides to stream the upcoming series on various platforms.

Negotiations for the details are still pending, as Messi is yet to decide whether he will lend his voice to the animated series.
