Loki Season 2: Is Miss Minutes Friend or Foe to The TVA?

Loki Season 2: Is Miss Minutes Friend or Foe to The TVA?

Miss Minutes is finally back in Loki Season 2, but the animated clock’s return only made her presence more mysterious. Not surprisingly, it has led to more questions about her motives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series. So is Miss Minutes a friend of the Time Variance Authority, or is she set to become a dangerous villain who will eventually work with Kang the Conqueror?

The first two episodes of Loki Season 2 put the focus on Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief as he helps the TVA fix the Sacred Timeline. However, everyone deduces that Miss Minutes is the key to fixing everything, but she is nowhere to be found. That leads to the events in Episode 3 as Loki and Mobius finally track down Ravonna Renslayer, who is keeping her eye (or manipulating) on Victor Timely, who just happens to be a Kang Variant. Nevertheless, everyone’s actions are dubious, especially those of Miss Minutes.

Who is Miss Minutes?

Miss Minutes was originally introduced as a helpful mascot of the TVA, but the truth behind the animated clock has confirmed she is more than just that. The first season of Loki concluded with Miss Minutes being revealed to be aware of He Who Remains and has actually been working for him the entire time. With that in mind, the clock is set to play an even bigger role in the second season.

What Did Miss Minutes Do in Loki Season 2 Episode 3?

In Loki Season 2 Episode 3, Miss Minutes returned with a vengeance, guiding Renslayer through Victor Timely’s timeline and ensuring he knows about the TVA. She does just about everything to ensure that the Kang Variant fixes the Temporal Loom, but her motives are also questionable as she quickly dispatches Renslayer and flirts with Timely. The episode ultimately reveals that Miss Minutes has been in love with He Who Remains all this time.

Is Miss Minutes Evil?

So does this mean Miss Minutes is one of the bad guys in Loki Season 2? Executive producer Kevin Wright explains that the clock isn’t necessarily evil; she just misses her connection with the Kang Variant.

“In Episode 3, when she speaks to Victor Timely about the past that they had, I think it’s really kind of moving,” Wright told Marvel. “It’s weird, you get she’s an artificial intelligence, but there is some kind of maybe consciousness there that she’s had these experiences, and she kind of longs for this connection again.”

“Is her programming [written] to make that loyalty for him? Or, as she says, she was given the free will to write her own programming?” he continues. “Is this a naturally growing kind of emotion that she’s having? I just think that’s a cool space creatively to sit in.”

Of course, it’s possible that Miss Minutes is simply attached to He Who Remains because he looks like her true target. It is believed that the clock was created by Kang the Conqueror, who essentially left her with one of his Variants. Whether she is good or bad, she is an important character in Loki Season 2, and she might actually help fix the Sacred Timeline somewhere down the line.

Or will see? Interestingly, Loki Season 2 Episode 3 concluded with Miss Minutes telling Renslayer that she knows a big secret about her, and learning the truth is expected to make the former TVA judge very angry. Needless to say, the statement makes viewers want to see the next episode right away.

Loki Season 2 Episode 3 is titled 1893 and is named after the year in which most of the episode takes place. You can now watch all of the Season 1 episodes as well as the first three episodes of the second season on Disney+.
