Digital Eclipse announced a new remaster of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in collaboration with Disney and Capcom.

The studio head of Digital Eclipse, Mike Mika assured the fans on GamerHubTV on YouTube that a remastered version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will be out soon.

“Ultimately, at the end of the day, it’s really not up to us, so all we can really do is just make the best case possible and try to make it easy for them, and see if they’re interested.”
– Mike Mika, Digital Eclipse (Studio Head)
  • Marvel vs Capcom 2 came out first on 24 February 2000. Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes is a crossover fighting game.
  • It is the fourth installment in the Marvel vs. Capcom series, which features characters from both Capcom’s video game franchises and comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It came out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2009.
  • The Marvel vs Capcom 2 re-release is also supported and encouraged by the loyal fan base of Marvel Cinematic Universe which happens to work in Digital Eclipse’s favor.

PC Emulators

  • Copies of Marvel vs Capcom 2 in emulators are legally acceptable but piracy is not. Emulators are hardware or software that enable one computer system (called the host) to behave like another computer system (called the guest).
  • A popular emulator is MAME which is designed to preserve arcade video game history. It is a multi-arcade system emulator making it easier for players.
  • Another emulator is Dreamcast’s Flycast, it provides the best emulatable version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 that isn’t the arcade original.

Retro games like Marvel av Capcom 2 are expensive. This can be dated back to 2003 when Marvel vs Capcom 2 was halted from printing which results in its unavailability on streaming platforms including Xbox.
