Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man 2 has left gamers all over the world with a wave of excitement and immense anticipation. As Spider-Man fans, we’re pretty sure that, among many things, you were waiting to see the addition of the iconic Symbiote suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Well, the good news is the suit is indeed in the game. The first look at the Symbiote suit was revealed to fans during the live broadcast of Spider-Man 2’s gameplay at the PlayStation Showcase 2023. The iconic black suit is worn by none other than Peter Parker. This has left us wondering, “How did Peter get the Symbiote Suit in Spider-Man 2?” Let’s find out.
Unveiling the Mystery: How did Peter Acquire the Symbiote Suit in Spider-Man 2?
It is still unclear how Peter got his hands on the Symbiote or how the Symbiote got its hand on Peter’s, to be precise. The gameplay trailer of Spider-Man 2 only provided us with glimpses of the suit but didn’t shed light on how Peter could use and control its powers. So, how did Peter acquire the Symbiote Suit in Spider-Man 2?
Possible Theory
- In the gameplay reveal trailer’s opening, Peter bursts out of the basement of Connor’s house. Transitioning from his regular red and blue suit to the iconic Symbiote suit in his quest to locate Connors.
- In the post-credit scene of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Curt Connors was seen assisting Norman Osborn in treating Harry with the help of the Symbiote.
- Curt might have had some of the Symbiote locked away in his basement, and Peter came in contact with it. This theory suggests that this granted Peter the Symbiote suit.
- On the contrary, when Spider-Man bursts out from the basement, he looks as if he’s experienced with the suit already.

We also saw Miles’ surprise in the trailer as he witnessed Peter in a new suit, suggesting that Peter had recently acquired the Symbiote suit.
Peter’s Growing Bond with the Symbiote
Peter and the Symbiote grow closer
- In his pursuit of the Lizard, Peter gets too ahead of himself and ends up getting caught in the line of fire of one of Kraven’s missile drones.
- What’s worth pointing out is that within that short moment, Peter protected himself from the missile’s impact by protecting himself with the Symbiote. Or should we say… the Symbiote protected Peter from the missile?
- This could be a clue that the Symbiote and Peter are growing closer, as the Symbiote is starting to make decisions by itself and influencing Peter’s thoughts.
Peter’s unusual behavior and actions
- When the Lizard was about to escape, Peter found himself in a dilemma, unsure whether to save a civilian or continue chasing the lizard.
- In the end, he managed to rescue the civilian, but instead of gently placing him down, he roughly tossed him on the ground and quickly left to go after the Lizard. From how Miles reacted, it was clear that Peter’s actions were not typical or expected.
Peter communicating with the Symbiote
- At the end of the trailer, Peter says, “He got away from us,” which means that the Lizard managed to escape.
- But the important thing to mention is who Peter was talking to. Was he talking to Miles or the Symbiote? He spoke softly, suggesting he was talking to himself, and by ‘himself,’ we mean the Symbiote.
Conclusion
While we still are unsure how Peter got the Symbiote suit, it has undoubtedly excited us all. Will our beloved superhero transform into a villain in Insomniac’s latest game?
