Although the lineup of free games for those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus Essential were announced a few weeks ago, more games are being added to the subscription service. The announced games are definitely exciting and worth every penny. Here are all the free games coming to PlayStation Plus in the second half of April 2023. Stay with us!

Free games coming to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium (April 2023)

Now that Essential subscribers can enjoy Sackboy, Meet Your Maker, and Tails of Iron, it’s time for those in the Extra and Premium tiers to receive their free games of the month. If you are in either one of the PlayStation Plus tiers mentioned, you can download the following games for free starting on April 18, 2023.

1. Bassmaster Fishing (PS4 & PS5)

For those wanting to go fishing but in the comfort of your own home, this is the perfect game for you! Bassmaster Fishing is a simulator game where you can compete in fishing tournaments, much like in real life. You can also learn about various fish species as you catch them.

One of the exciting features of this game is you get to fish in different locations across North America. What a way to cool down after a long day, don’t you think?

2. Doom Eternal (PS4 & PS5)

Now if you want a first-person shooter, Doom Eternal is coming to PlayStation Plus this April 2023. In this game, you need to fight and defeat hordes of demonic beings. You can get creative with the weapons and abilities you need to use in order to be the ultimate demon slayer.

If you get bored playing solo, the game lets you play online with other slayers in various modes. Here, you can either team up or face off against each other.

3. Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS4 & PS5)

This is an action-adventure game where you play as Kena, a young spirit guide who is on a quest to search for a sacred mountain shrine. Throughout your journey, you will meet spirit companions to aid you on your journey.

This free game coming to the PlayStation Plus is great if you want a game that has an emotional story and stunning visuals.

4. Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (PS4 & PS5)

Another platformer that will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers is Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. If you are a fan of the Wonder Boy series, this is one of the most recent releases. Here, you play as Jin and he has the power to transform into different animals.

Each animal has unique abilities that you need to use in order to progress through the game. It’s an enjoyable experience overall and we’re glad that it’s part of the Game Catalogue for this month!

5. Paradise Killer (PS4 & PS5)

For those looking for a puzzle-mystery game that will test your wits and detective skills, Paradise Killer is also one of the free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers this month. You take on the role of Lady Love Dies, an investigator who needs to solve the mystery behind a mass murder case.

The game allows you to explore an island filled with immortal cultists, one of whom is responsible for the violent crime.

6. Riders Republic (PS4 & PS5)

Riders Republic is a sports video game that lets you participate in various extreme sports like mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and even wingsuit flying!

The game also boasts a massive open world fitted for any of the activities you want to try out.

7. Slay the Spire (PS4)

If you want to cut down on the action and play some good old card game, Slay the Spire is also coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue this month! In this game, you need to be strategic and play your cards right in order to ascend a spire that is filled with all kinds of obstacles.

This game is perfect for fans of Hearthstone or Legends of Runeterra.

8. The Evil Within (PS4)

Going back to the action, The Evil Within is a survival horror game that is similar to games like the Silent Hill or Outlast series. You play as a detective named Sebastian Castellanos who is trapped in a whole other reality created by a being called Ruvik.

Get ready to face all kinds of frightening elements that will definitely mess with your head.

9. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (PS4)

This game is a first-person shooter and you get to play as an American spy deployed in Nazi Germany. You need to find ways in order to stop the Nazis from going through with their secret weapon project and along the way, you get to fight against a mixture of soldiers and zombies.

10. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (PS4)

Picking up from the events after Wolfenstein: The New Order, players resume the role of B.J. Blazkowicz. This time, he leads a resistance movement against the Nazi regime in America and once again, you have to fight and defeat any Nazi soldiers standing in your way.
