“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” Skydance New Media president Amy Hennig said during the press release. “I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

Star Wars has been inspiring a lot of video games so far. The most recent ones are LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Star Wars: Squadrons.

“We couldn’t be happier to be working with Lucasfilm Games,” Skydance New Media Executive Vice President and GM, Julian Beak added. “We look forward to taking fans on an epic journey with this Star Wars action-adventure title.”

Skydance New Media is a video game development team produced by Skydance Media.

One notable project Skydance birthed is the award-winning VR game based on the horror series, The Walking Dead, titled The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners.

On the other hand, ahead of Skydance’s team-up with Lucasfilm games, they have also secured a partnership with Marvel Studios last year, 2021. Both of these powerhouse entertainment studios are planning to create an all-new game featuring the story of some Marvel heroes.
