India Women vs. New Zealand Women 1st T20 took place on Wednesday at McLean Park, Napier. New Zealand won the 1st T20 by 18 runs.
India won the toss and elected to bowl first.
- New Zealand’s innings started off very well. there were no early wickets. The opening partnership between Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine was fabulous. However, D Sharma broke the partnership in the 7th over.
- The New Zealand’s innings were shaking during the middle overs. Wickets kept on falling in quick intervals. But Maddy Green and Lea Tahuhu ensured that New Zealand finished off with 155 on the scoreboard.

Run Chase
The Indian Team is known for its run-chasing ability, but this time they couldn’t make it.
The openening pair of Shafali Verma and Yastika Bhatia had a strong start. Both were looking good in form. However Amelia Kerr sent back the two openers in her first over, the Indian chase slowed down. After that Indians couldn’t make any proper partnership.
The New Zealand bowler doesn’t give any chance to the visitors to settle down on the crease. They kept chipping away with the wickets at regular intervals and India lost the match by 18 runs. Lea Tahuhu became the Player of the Match for her strong small inning.
