NFL: Tom Brady’s Un-Retirement Effect on the Buccaneers

Just yesterday, NFL legend, Tom Brady has announced that he is un-retiring and will be back for another season in NFL. Brady posted on Twitter that he will be back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd season in professional football. Also, this will be his 3rd season with the Bucs.

The 44-year-old quarterback previously announced that he was calling it a career after a failed playoff run after the 2021 NFL season.

Now that Brady is back, he’s planning to add more to his legacy as arguably one of the greats, if not the greatest, of all time. Last season, even at 44 years old, Brady still led the league in yard passes (5,316) and touchdown passes (43). He also owns NFL career passing records with 7,263 completions on 11,317 attempts for 84,520 yards and 624 touchdowns.

With his return, the Bucs are changing plans in drafting and the free agency.

  • The Bucs will halt in pursuit of a replacement quarterback since Brady is back.
  • They brought Ryan Jensen back (their center), also because of Brady’s return.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers were previously extremely interested in DeShaun Watson (Houston Texans QB) and Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns QB), but that is probably out of the window now.
  • Bucs GM (Jason Licht) is planning to “reload” their roster to push for another championship run

Tom Brady will turn 45 in August this year. He has already achieved so much greatness in his playing career and has nothing left to prove. He is a 7-time Super Bowl Champion and 3-time league MVP.
