A data mine of Nintendo’s Mario 3D World Switch port has revealed plans for a sixth character, reports VGC. The character may have not been introduced into the game for reasons yet unknown.
First discovered by twitter user Nickolox, the files are supposedly related to the character Toadette, initially intended to be a playable character. The individual also said that they have also found 214 player animations for the character and a voice line. There are, however, no character models.
I've been doing some digging through SM3DW's files, recently.
Toadette was going to be playable at some point. So far I've found a few traces of her in the player files.
She has a voice line for being selected, and I also found 214 player animations.
No models however.— Nickolox (@Nickoloxx) February 17, 2021
In September last year, Nintendo had revealed that Mario 3D World, which was originally available for Wii U, would be ported to the Nintendo Switch. The game is now available for purchase in Nintendo game store for $19.99.
