Nintendo Switch OLED Model Revealed In Japan

As the release of the Nintendo, Switch OLED is getting close, there has been a sighting of the new device. With the release scheduled for the 8th of October, we were shown trailers from Nintendo and the first impressions info from the media, but, for the very first time, the device was spotted on public display in Japan.

Although the official release is for next month, Nintendo retail stores in Tokyo have brought out the new Switch OLED. Other electronic stores like Yodobashi Camera have also done the same. This was the first time the console in its updated design other than in promotional images. The new device was first shown to news publications, from where we got out first impressions info.

Alex Aniel, the business manager of Limited Run Games, was able to get a few pictures of the new console, which he shared on Twitter. However, none of the images being circulated can do justice to the new screen, which can display high contrast and deeper blacks than the standard display.

Features of the OLED console

The new console has some exciting new features, which are mentioned below

  • a 7-inch OLED screen
  • 64 GB of internal storage
  • an upgraded audio system that uses onboard speakers (both tabletop and handheld modes).
  • a dock with a wired LAN port
  • a movable stand

The price of the OLED console is set at $349.99 and will be featured in two color sets, white and red/blue. VGC, in their first impressions, the experience that the OLED console “feels like a striking improvement compared to the original Switch model – as long as you like playing in portable mode”. They also say that the screen looks beyond fantastic, and that the rear of the console is much better with a “smart-looking wider stand”, and that the “aesthetic improvements also extend to Switch OLED’s new white-colored dock, which certainly looks nicer than its predecessor”.
