Overwatch is, without a doubt, one of the most trending and popular games in today’s gaming world. Not only that, but it is also highly critically acclaimed and is the winner of The Game of the Year award. So, it is only natural there will be tremendous hype around the sequel of the game. Being such a big game, certain arguments between fans are no big deal but it seems like this time it went a bit far.
Man Accused of Murdering His Boyfriend
Reportedly, a man from Michigan has been accused of murdering his boyfriend over a petty argument regarding Overwatch. It was stated that 31-year-old Docquen Jovo Watkins allegedly choked his 28 years old boyfriend, Rory Teasley on Monday. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the violence took place due to a far-fetched argument about the popular game.
“We see far too often across the country these days when people resort to violence over trivial and insignificant disagreements. There is never a reason where violence is acceptable over a disagreement. Those that do so will be held accountable,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement
What Exactly Happened?
After the incident, Watkins called police from his Pontiac apartment and explained that situation. According to him, he and his boyfriend had gotten into a fight and Rory was ‘sleeping’ on the couch. Upon their arrival, they found that Rory was unconscious and was later pronounced dead when taken to a local hospital.
Watkins, the accused, is currently being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail. He will be facing a second-degree murder charge and is due to appear in court on January 18. Exactly what they were fighting about is still unclear but the consequence of the heated argument proved deadly.
