Phil Spencer: The Next Xbox Might Offer Higher Frame Rates And A Balance Between CPU & GPU

Phil Spencer

Phil Spencer announced his plans for the next Xbox console at Microsoft’s E3 press conference this year. The Xbox boss wanted people to know that he loves the track record of Microsoft’s hardware team. Although, he shared nothing about the specifications and didn’t reveal any further information.

There’s no lack of ideas in the Xbox team and they’re planning them all for the future. Speaking in an interview with Giant Bomb, Phil said, “I didn’t want people to think they were going to walk away from that part of the brand in the business because it’s really important to us.”

Phil wanted to assure people that consoles are still a prime focus at Microsoft. He hopes the next Xbox can offer higher frame rates, a perfect balance between CPU and GPU and a box that can launch games faster.

In other news, Microsoft had one of the best E3 press conferences this year with over 50 games, 5 new studios and fresh first-party titles. If I had to choose the best one, I’ll give away the crown to Microsoft with a slow pat on the back.

I really enjoyed Microsoft’s conference and how the company kept me glued to the screen, not allowing me to blink for once. You blink, you lose. Only it’d have been much more spectacular if they revealed some gameplay for Age of Empires IV, speaking of which, we might see it in action during Gamescom this year.

Also, Raji: An Ancient Epic is included in the Xbox Game Pass, which is indeed, a delightful news for its fans. Go check out our full-fledged guide to the game.

Let me know what you think.

Make sure you subscribe to our push-notifications and never miss an update on Microsoft, its first-party titles, all the games announced and much more. Until next time, Happy Gaming!

Thanks, Giant Bomb!

  1. Yeah, Age of Empires IV footage, a Windows 10 exclusive, is what was missing from Xbox’s briefing and certainly would have sold Xbox consoles like the current E3 offering failed to do.

    1. Agreed. I’ll tell you what happened. We’re just 2 college kids running this website. And here in India, it was midnight when the conferences were going on.

We knew Microsoft won’t let us sleep that day with more than 50 games to be revealed. And after gulping in all the games, we patiently waited for Age of Empires IV to comfort our eyes and go to sleep with indescribable satisfaction.

And sadly, Microsoft didn’t reveal it. GG!

Hoping to see it at Gamescom though.
