How to play the demo
Before the game’s July release, a playable demo of Pikmin 4 from Nintendo is available to play for free. The demo will allow you to see the game’s new world and gameplay mechanics firsthand.

- The demo is available now, starting June 28th.
- It is free to download via the Nintendo Switch eShop.

What is Pikmin 4 all about?
If you have played Pikmin, you will remember playing as Captain Olimar. He is a tiny astronaut who crashes and lands on an unidentified planet.
- Pikmin are tiny, plant-like creatures that live on the Earth.
- These Pikmin are diligent and passionate; you may give them orders to carry out certain duties and overcome obstacles.
Captain Olimar encounters a problem in Pikmin 4 once more. He crash lands on an unknown planet while setting off on another daring adventure. Leaving him trapped and in need of help. Things suddenly change, though, as the Rescue Corps that was sent to save Olimar also crashes down on the same planet.
- In Pikmin 4, you play the part of a new Rescue Corps recruit who must navigate a dangerous journey to rescue Olimar and the other Rescue Corps comrades and lead them back to safety.
- A new extent of customization is added to Pikmin 4. You will be able to design and command a custom playable character, which is a first for the franchise.
New Pikmin 4 Species
There are new Pikmin species in Pikmin 4. Each has special powers that will help you solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
- The Glow Pikmin act as a defensive force at night, keeping off opponents and assuring the crew’s safety.
- The Ice Pikmin can freeze both water and enemies, offering up new possibilities for exploration and combat.
