Sony has started the year off right with the selection of free games it offered for the month of January.
Sony started 2023 off with a bang when they released the free games to their subscription service. For the month of January, PS Plus subscribers were treated to the following titles:
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Axiom Verge 2
- Fallout 76
Players were most excited about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as it prepared them for the sequel releasing this March. Now that we have credible leaks about the February line-up, we couldn’t be more excited for the free games we’re getting in the following weeks.

In the tweet they posted, billbil_kun revealed that four exciting games are soon going to be available for free on the PS Plus. These are the following titles rumored to arrive by February 7:

- Mafia: Definitive Edition (for the PlayStation 4)

Usually, Sony only releases three free games. However, February seems to be an exception. If the leak does turn out to be true, then expect these four games to be available to all PS Plus subscribers by next week.
The leaker also put a disclaimer that Mafia: Definitive Edition’s slot in the lineup may be replaced by another game in some regions. On the other hand, Sony may perform a similar stunt from before when they released a total of five free games on their subscription service. The lineup is still subject to change but nonetheless, we are more than excited to get these games for free as soon as they’re live.
When is the rumored lineup going live?
Sony does not release the free games right at the start of the month. Similar to previous releases, we can expect the free PlayStation Plus games for February to arrive on February 7, 2023. Players have until March 6, 2023, to download and play the selection of games.
Keep in mind that these are merely rumors, and gamers should always take leaks with a grain of salt. The lineup can change before it is released by next week, depending on Sony’s final calls. Nonetheless, we are more than excited if this lineup does turn out to be true!
