PlayStation Plus Premium: Free new game trial – explained

Free game trials on Sony’s PlayStation Plus Premium allow subscribers to try out selected games at no cost. It offers a great way to test new games without having to purchase them first. The list of available free game trials keeps changing as the titles remain on the subscription service for a limited time window. Let’s take a look at the free new game trial on PlayStation Plus Premium that Sony has surprised us with.

Free new game trial

Starting this week, Sony made Persona 5 Royal available to play on a free trial basis on the PlayStation Plus Premium. Thanks to the service, the game is now downloadable as a demo, and users can play for around four hours of the game until the trial version ends.

Only the PS5 variant of the game is available in the free trial and it’s offered exclusively on PlayStation Plus Premium and not its lower categories like Essential or Extra. The game’s demo version will be available for users to play for an entire year until January 31, 2024.

Persona 5 Royal

Made by Atlus and the legendary SEGA, Persona 5 Royal is a must-play for fans of RPGs and anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable gaming experience.

  • The game’s turn-based battles are intense and fast-paced, and the addition of new Personas makes combat even more exciting. And if you’re a fan of games with great soundtracks, look no further than Persona 5 Royal.

  • Set in modern-day Tokyo, you play as a high school student who has been falsely accused of a crime and must navigate the complexities of society while battling supernatural forces.

PlayStation Plus Premium game trials

PS Plus Premium’s free game trials are not just a great way to try out new games. They also offer a chance to play some of the biggest and most popular titles that might otherwise be too expensive to purchase for the PS5.

Some of the games available for a free trial on PlayStation Plus Premium include popular titles like The Last of Us Part 1, Cyberpunk 2077, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, NBA 2K23, and Dying Light 2.

PlayStation Plus subscription

For the uninitiated, the PlayStation Plus is a Netflix-style subscription service offered by Sony and competes against Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. Sony offers PS Plus subscriptions in three categories: Essential, Extra, and Premium.

  • PS Plus Essential offers monthly games for online play and store discounts. Extra offers a catalog of 400 downloadable PS4 and PS5 games such as Death Stranding and God of War (2018)
  • With PS Plus Premium, players get access to hundreds of PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games. It offers time-limited game trials, which let players try a selection of games such as the new Persona 5 Royal free game trial on PS Plus Premium.
  • Sony announced earlier last week that the PlayStation Plus Collection will no longer be available as a PS Plus benefit from May 9.

In conclusion, free game trials on PlayStation Plus Premium is a killer feature for Sony PS5 and PS4 users. Which game do you think deserves a free trial on PS Plus Premium?
