In essence, there is only one way to catch a Ditto – catch the Pokémon that Ditto is concealing and wait for Ditto to show up!

So theres a Professor Willow trading card in the TCG series that you can buy and on the car it gives you a code to enter into the games promo code section in the shop, and the prize for completing all the research tiers is no other than a ditto!!!
Almost like everyone else, I was stuck with two separate research’s requiring me to catch a ditto, and I’ve been catching every single pokemon I come into contact with even if they weren’t in the list just in case and I was at a standstill until the Johto research became available, and that went by quick but just recently i bought my prof willow card on eBay for 2$ , entered in the code , and not only did I get a whole new chapter of research, but when I finished it , there was a ditto at the end !!!!! So now I’ve been able to move on with my other research chapters!! I was super excited!!
Even tho it kinda sucks to have to spend money just to get past a chapter but for the ones who can spare a few dollars, it’s not a bad investment lol”

Catching Ditto Tips
- Ditto is more difficult to capture than the Pokémon it imitates!
- If Ditto is concealing in a pokemon of the same CP, a Pokeball is less likely to be effective!
- If a Pokémon with a lower CP from the list on this page appears to be eluding capture for some reason, it might be wise to use a berry and an Ultra Ball.
- Despite the low likelihood of a ditto spawn, keep trying and it will subsequently pop up.
- As previously stated, this is not a Pokémon that will change the way you fight. In fact, it is relatively ineffective in combat. So go easy on yourself!
