One of the few games in the franchise with more than one reward for completing the Pokédex, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which includes a chance to meet the iconic Mythical Pokémon Arceus.
Arceus
Arceus is the game’s FINAL-FINAL BOSS XD, posing the biggest challenge to players as they attempt to complete the Pokédex by capturing the true Alpha Pokémon. The Original One will play more tricks on you than any previous boss in the game. You must survive if you are to complete the mission in Hisui via the space-time anomaly.
Arceus’ combat is eerily similar to some of the earlier Noble Pokémon bouts, but with more distinct phases and a considerably greater array of attacks to evade and avoid.
To begin, players must first visit the Temple of Sinnoh after catching all of the available Pokémon, then play the Azure Flute near the location beneath the mission marker.
The Flute
When you play the flute, a luminous stairwell appears, which players should plainly follow. They’ll find a glowing platform at the top, where the battle with Arceus will take place. After a brief cinematic, Arceus will launch his strike. Stay vigilant.
Arceus Attack Pattern
Arceus’ first attack consists of growing energy rings and comets, both of which have the potential to do a lot of damage if they collide. Players should use the Y button to hop over the energy rings and use the floor marks to avoid the comets. If you are confident, you can even use the time in between attacks to hit Arceus with some Mysterious Balms.

Arceus’ golden laser attack, which starts with a giant energy ball developing above the Pokémon’s head, is commonly used after the comets and energy rings. This ball will break into a succession of golden lasers after a second or two, which players must avoid by tapping the Y button shortly before the collision.
Because the golden lasers are in fast succession, players will not be able to hit Arceus with balms in between them.
After depleting 25% of Arceus’ Frenzy meter, the Pokémon will change types, presenting players with a new set of attack patterns to learn. The Pokémon disappears into a space-time fissure in the first, only to resurface elsewhere a few moments later and sprint fiercely towards the player in the second.
This move can be easily avoided by pressing Y, and it takes a long time to charge up, so players should take advantage of this opportunity to strike Arceus with more balms.
While in this form, Arceus will use the golden laser strike from before as well as a new AOE attack. When it arrives, a giant pink circle will appear on the ground. However, unlike previous encounters, this circle denotes the area that will not be impacted by the explosion. Players should hurry to reach inside the large pink circle as soon as possible.

Arceus Overdrive
When Arceus’ Frenzy Meter reaches the final 25%, it will transform and enter overdrive mode for the last time. It will start using all of the previous moves, but at a considerably faster rate, making it much more difficult for players to avoid them. Arceus will also use a charge attack identical to the one from earlier in the game, with players once again using balms to stun it by destroying the pink orbs above its head.
*=Players will receive the Legend Plate following a short talk to finish things up. After that, the last story task will be completed, and players will be able to reclaim possession of the Temple of Sinnoh.
Unfortunately, the game’s main character does not get to return home & Arceus gets to join the team.
