The game sends you there early to fulfill a request for a shiny Ponyta. However, you should be aware of the level 40 alpha Rapidash protecting the zone on your first visit.
What? Ponyta is Evolving?!
All you have to do to evolve a Ponyta into a Rapidash is raise it to level 40. You can go to the party screen and click the flashing Pokeball to evolve it once it reaches that level.
Because Pokemon Legends: Arceus has an XP sharing system, Ponyta can silently grow in your back pocket even if you aren’t training it. EXP candy and other consumables can help speed up the process even further.
