Pokemon Unite: Chandelure guide | How to unlock

Chandelure, Pokemon Unite

Pokemon Unite is one of the newest MOBAs. Although it is relatively new compared to other MOBAs it is still quite popular. Pokemon Unite currently has 52 Pokemon licenses to choose from. The game gets regular updates, patch notes, etc and today they released another Pokemon named Chandelure. He is long awaited because the previous two Pokemon releases were defenders while Chandelure is an Attacker. This Pokemon Unite Chandelure guide will help you with the build sets, abilities, and held items, and how to unlock it.

Chandelure

Chandelure Evolution
Chandelure Evolution (in-game screengrab)

This Pokemon is a ranged support-attack-based attacker who should be played. He can be played in both the bottom lane and in the jungle. Chandelure lacks mobility and endurance but makes up for it with his high burst damage.

  • Evolution: Chandelure has three forms namely Litwick, Lampent, and his final evolved form Chandelure. He first evolves to Lampent at level 5 and to Chandelure at level 7.
  • Chandelure Held Items: Since Chandelure does heavy support damage, you would want to amplify his damage with sp-attack-based Held items like Choice Specs, Wise Glasses, and Slick Spoon. In addition, you can swap one of these items out for Focus Band for extra sustain.
  • Battle Items: Chandelure doesn’t have much sustain, and you can find yourself in a bad spot if enemy speedsters jump on you. Therefore, the most appropriate Battle item for Chandelure is Eject Button.

Chandelure’s Abilities

Basic Attack and Passive

  • After a fixed interval of time, Chandelure’s basic attack becomes boosted and decreases the opponent’s movement speed, and does small over-time damage.
  • When Chandelure connects his abilities to enemies, he partially ignores their defenses. This effect can be stacked up to 8 times.

Ability 1

Chandelure Abilities

Till Level 5: Ember: Chandelure throws out a projectile flame that deals damage to opposing Pokemon. This decreases their movement speed and can be used again after a while.

After Reaching level 5: Flamethrower/Overheat

  • Flamethrower: The user shoots a fire blast in a direction, dealing damage to opponents if it hits. At the end of the blast, if the explosion hits an enemy it reduces the cooldown of this move.
  • Overheat: Chandelure throws flames in an arc three times dealing damage. Hitting the ability grants Chandelure one heat energy. After using this ability again, Chandelure throws out exploding flame and its damage is based on the gathered heat energy.

At Reaching Level 11: Flamethrower+ / Overheat+

  • Flamethrower+: In addition to Flamethrower, this skill can be further upgraded at level 11. After the upgrade, if the explosion hits an opponent it also gives Chandelure increased damage for some time.
  • Overheat+: This skill can be further upgraded to Overheat + at level 11, and upgrading it reduces this move’s cooldown.

Ability 2

Till Level 7: Night Shade: This ability has an area of effect that deals damage to enemies and marks them. Dealing damage to these marked Pokemon will leave them unable to act for a short time.

Upon Reaching Level 7: Poltergeist/ Imprison

  • Poltergeist: Chandelure creates a mirage zone, and deals damage to opponents within it while slowing them. If any opponent walks into this zone it decreases their movement speed.
  • Imprison: Chandelure creates a prison-like zone and the first opponent caught in it will be unable to move. Furthermore, any opposing Pokemon that enters the zone will be unable to use a move.

At Reaching Level 13: Poltergeist+/Imprison+

  • Poltergeist+: Further upgrading this ability into “+” at Level 13 strengthens the movement speed decrease of opponents.
  • Imprison+: Further upgrading this move to “+”, leaves all the Pokemons in the zone unable to act.

Unite Move: Ignite Midnight
