PS Plus Premium: Sony Requires 2-Hour Game Trials for New Games

For the first time, PS Plus Premium subscribers will be able to try out games for a short period of time. It’s comparable to EA Play, which lets us play the games before we buy them.

This policy may have been designed particularly for in-house development, PlayStation Studios titles, and even third-party developers that wished to give a free trial to PlayStation Plus Premium customers.

If you want to release games on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, you’ll need to have at least two hours of gameplay.

  • However, it appears that only games that cost more than 33 euros would be affected by this mandate, as stated by the firm. No projects already in development or PS VR games will be affected by this.
  • Demos can be released 3 months after the game’s release to support flexibility. Furthermore, PlayStation Plus Premium users must have access to them for at least a year.
  • Although the corporation favors free trials for a limited period of time, the door is open to the release of customized demonstrations.
Sony has yet to offer a remark on this matter, according to Game Developer (Previously known as Gamasutra).
