PlayStation’s newest console, the PlayStation 5 (PS5) is very rare and elusive nowadays that it becomes a luxury for some. Fans are having difficulties finding just even one in the most common places. But, just recently, a new trick surfaced on Twitter on a secret way to buy a PlayStation 5 through Best Buy local stores without being hassled. Buying a PS5 after its release was not a walk at the park. It is extremely difficult to find, much more to purchase one. The reason behind the PS5 going out of stock is mainly because of the high demand but a very restricted supply. In some cases, what gravitates toward the very low supply is due to “logistics problems” (or should we say shipping problems).
What also makes it worse is that there is also a global shortage of microchips which could be the major culprit behind the shortage of PS5 stocks. Now, after almost 2 years since its launch, the problem is still going on and it does not seem to improve. So, getting your hands on a PS5 console might just be a long-lasting conundrum.

But, someone found a solution to this problem. In a tweet posted by @Wario64, they gave out a secret way to purchase a PlayStation 5 on Best Buy.

Since the demand is miles high, some resellers already have bots to automatically purchase store re-stocks. According to @Wario64, there is a trick you can do to work your way around them. If you are looking for the newest PlayStation console, we suggest you follow these simple steps.
- Open the Best Buy App
- Log in with your account
- Check for your local Best Buy stores
- In the search bar, search for PlayStation 5 (PS5)
- Toggle the “In-Store Setting” off then turn it back on again
- If the PS5 console shows up (even though it says it is already sold out), there’s a high chance that there are available stocks of PS5 at the said location
Take note that this trick may or may not give off expected results, but if you’re hungry for that PS5 experience, it’s worth the try. In line with that, most stores do not usually advertise nor announce whenever they do in-person re-stocks. These re-stock methods are also random and very limited so PlayStation users should always keep an eye out.
