PUBG Corporation has announced today it is preparing to launch PUBG MOBILE INDIA, a brand new game created specifically for the Indian market.
The Korea-based company is investing over $100 million USD in India to “cultivate the local video game, esports, entertainment, and IT industries.” The new game, PUBG MOBILE INDIA, would be a separate game, created specifically for the Indian audience.
In its press release, it says, “With privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority for PUBG Corporation, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed.”
The irony here is that India banned PUBG MOBILE due to its affiliation with Tencent, a China-based company. The custom version, however, is still made by Tencent. This could be the Chinese version, according to analyst Daniel Ahmad.
PUBG MOBILE INDIA will boot up with a virtual simulation training ground with new characters automatically starting clothed, and green hit effects to reflect eh virtual nature of the game. To promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players, the game will place restrictions on game time as well.
In order to support the game in the country, over 100 employees from India will be hired specializing in business, esports, and game development. PUBG Corporation is also making plans to host India-exclusive esports events, which will feature the biggest tournaments, the largest prize pools, and the best tournament productions.
There’s no release date as of now, but we’ll inform you when there’s an update.
