BCCI on Wednesday released the ratified Central Contract list of players. There was something shocking in the ratified list. Veteran batters Cheteshwar Pujara, former Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya were downgraded.

There are four categories in the BCCI Central Contract, A+ which has annual remuneration of Rs 7 crore while A, B, and C categories are valued at Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore, and Rs 1 crore respectively.

Pujara and Rahane, who were in Grade A are now in Grade B. since both veteran batsmen were not in good form. Both batsmen are great search of runs. But unfortunately, they are not getting runs. So they were also dropped from the Sri Lanka Test series.

Rahane scored a fabulous ton and Pujara was also looking good with the bat. However, they are not permanently dropped from the team. They will be given an opportunity to make their comeback.

Hardik Pandya suffered a huge demotion.

He has been demoted from Grade A to C in the list. Pandya has been injured for a long period. In Asia Cup 2018, Hardik suffered a serious back injury. He came back in 2019 for the World Cup and also had back surgery in London the same year. Now he doesn’t bowl usually due to injury. So he is no more considered an all-rounder.

Wriddhiman Saha, who has become the talk of the town is now again in news.  He is also demoted from group B to C. Saha is also dropped from the Test series against Sri Lanka.
