Red Dead Redemption 2 Entire Game Length Revealed

Red Dead Redemption 2

In a recent interview with Vulture’s Harold Goldberg, Rockstar Games Vice President Dan Houser revealed the entire game length of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Much later in the interview, Goldberg wrote that the game was initially around 65 hours long, of which, 5 hours were cut down due to the approaching release date.

Initially, Arthur Morgan had two love interests. However, Rockstar decided “one of them didn’t work”. A few entire missions were dropped as “they were never going to work technically or be quite slick enough, or they felt superfluous.”

Dan also mentions removing a mission on a train where “you had to deal with bounty hunters because it was fun at first, but then it wasn’t. This part of the process is always about compromise and horse trading. Everyone always loses bits of the game they love.”

There’s plenty of other information from the interview regarding story, gameplay, scripts and dialogues as well, which I’ll post as separate articles after this one’s done.
