Capcom is holding a special live broadcast to celebrate the upcoming release of Resident Evil 2. At the event, the developer panel along with a special guest will discuss the game in detail, showcase a live playthrough and most possibly allow attendees to experience the horror for themselves.
Update 3:37 PM Hibiyashi said that Resident Evil 2 is a complete remake and as it is the series’ latest game, it’s a follow up to Resident Evil 7. Kanda explained how they redid everything while respecting the original Resident Evil 2. “It’s nostalgic, yet brand new.”

Update 4:17 PM The panel is discussing a documentary Capcom filmed on the development aspects of Resident Evil 2. This documentary was broadcasted on Japanese TV explaining as to why the company chose to remake Resident Evil 2, reason being, it’s massive global popularity.
Update 4:20 PM Clips from the making of the game were being shown. The process behind scanning Leon’s actor, animating him and so on.
Update 4:24 PM Anpo discussed how action has always been an integral part of Resident Evil games. For Resident Evil 2, however, they’ve set action aside in favour of adventure/survival horror elements. Additionally, classic player models have been confirmed. This literally means you can play through the entire remake with classic PS1 characters.
Update 4:28 PM The classic models will come as paid DLC on launch, which will possibly cost ¥3000 (₹1928.25).
Update 4:32 PM The panel will soon play the Fourth Survivor mode.
Update 4:37 PM Capcom’s custom-made 3d motion capture studio using Canon EOS Rebel T6 (~ $400 each)
Update 4:45 PM The harder parody version of “Fourth Survivor” was announced as “The TOFU Survivor” where you’ll play as a block of Tofu with just a knife to survive the zombie parade.
Update 4:49 PM A new mode called “The Ghost Survivors” was announced. It’ll be a free DLC content update for the game, where you can play as multiple characters including Kendo, a USS Member and most probably the Mayor’s daughter. The panel hasn’t commented about a release date yet.

Fans have received Resident Evil 2 very passionately so far. The one-shot demo has been downloaded over 3 million times and over 26% players managed to finish it.
