Have they not heard? Have they not seen it? Stephen Curry is unbelievable! After winning his fourth ring and first-ever Finals MVP, Steph is without a doubt the best shooter and the “best point guard” to play the game – or am I reaching? As part of the best 75 players in history, let us revisit Curry’s all-time overall ranking according to most analysts.

Steph Curry’s All-Time Ranking

Before winning this year’s championship, Curry was deemed a top 14/15/16 player of All-Time. Yes, he was ranked lower than guys like Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Kevin Durant.

As a way to commemorate NBA’s 75th anniversary, the league recognized 75 of the best NBA players to ever play the game. In that same list, Curry was even ranked 16th overall, listed behind Julius Erving (15). But, with his 4th chip in just 8 years, Curry is kind of slowly crawling his way to the top 10.

In an updated Top 10 of All-Time made by ESPN, here are the legends that are currently on the list:

  1. Michael Jordan
  2. LeBron James
  3. Kareem Abdu-Jabbar
  4. Bill Russell
  5. Magic Johnson
  6. Wilt Chamberlain
  7. Larry Bird
  8. Tim Duncan
  9. Kobe Bryant
  10. Shaquille O’Neal

Now, this leads us to a very intriguing question – Where is Curry ranked after winning his 4th ring?

To begin with, Curry proved he can win without Kevin Durant. He and the Warriors did it before in 2015 and they did it again this year. While for KD, he needed Steph, Klay, Draymond, and GSW to win in the Finals (obviously). Would it be safe to rank Curry above Durant? Is he better than him statistically and achievement-wise? Well, his teammates for sure agree on that one.

Following that thought, Chef Curry can definitely cook (just kidding!). Jokes aside, even though some fans would be angered by this opinion, we would love to think that Curry is way above Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Dr. J. He is the best point guard today and is probably top 2 all-time.

Lastly, if we are looking at rings, stats, impact, and accolades, he’s almost up there with Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon (or even better). So, to cut to the chase, Curry could now be listed a bit higher than his previous ranking. We think Curry is moving to the top 11 spots.

Before we set things straight, let’s take a sneak peek at Curry’s achievements and great feats throughout his NBA career.

Steph Curry's accolades:
  • 2x NBA MVP (2015 and 2016)
  • The only unanimous MVP in league history
  • 4x NBA Champion (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022)
  • 1x NBA Finals MVP (2022)
  • 8x All-Star
  • 2x Scoring Champ
  • 8x All-NBA
  • 2009 All-Rookie 1st Team
  • 2x NBA 3-Point Contest Champion (2015, 2021)
  • Member of NBA’s 75 greatest players
  • And a whole lot more

This list goes on and it already speaks for itself. But, with his current resume, he already has a great chance of being ranked top 10 of All-Time. We love Shaq and we hate for him to be ranked lower, but talent must be recognized.

Additionally, if Curry wins another ring in the next years, he will surpass LeBron James (4) and Shaq (4) with total number of championships won and will have as many chips as Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Magic Johnson. If he wins two (2) more, he’ll join Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as legendary players who won 6 NBA titles. Although Curry is already 34 years old, we definitely think he still has a lot left in his tank. Not to mention, the Warriors are still a legitimate contender in the NBA. Can we see them repeat next year?
