It’s still raining in Manila after the rumored breakup between two famous Filipino celebrities – Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez – still continues to make waves on the internet. It’s already been weeks and fans still haven’t got the answer to everybody’s question – Are Richard and Sarah already separated? However, the controversy does not stop there as Richard’s mom, Annabelle Rama, has also stepped into the limelight and has seemingly entered the ruckus. Unfortunately, the biggest victims of this controversial news are the celebrity couple’s kids, Zion and Kai. Something is definitely brewing in the Gutierrez family, and Annabelle might have done something that caused the downfall of Richard and Sarah’s relationship.
Rumor has it that Annabelle Rama allegedly conducted a DNA test on Sarah’s second son, Kai Gutierrez
Annabelle, the sensational talent manager known for being tactless and frank, has made rounds on social media after fans blamed her for Richard and Sarah’s rumored breakup. Earlier in December, during an interview with ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe, Annabelle revealed that Richard has actually been living with her for the past month, as well as his two grandchildren. Take note, Richard Gutierrez hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but Annabelle is giving subtle hints that say otherwise.
Moreover, Annabelle was already taking a jab at Sarah for being expensive and an overspender wife, which seems to support the rumor that they don’t get along at all. Despite being a very close family, it may be true that Sarah’s relationship with her in-laws isn’t pretty.

But, the most intriguing rumor so far is the alleged “DNA testing” of Kai, which was allegedly done by Annabelle Rama. A subreddit page, ChikaPH vaguely talks about what Annabelle Rama might have done to Kai that triggered Sarah Lahbati. The rumor goes like this: In a now-deleted interview footage during Annabelle’s 71st birthday, the former sexy star told the media that she’s starting to question if Richard’s youngest son is really a Gutierrez and wants to have him DNA tested. Traces of the video are now deleted on TikTok and other platforms.
The DNA test was uncalled for, and although it turned out that Kai is indeed Richard’s boy, Sarah was reportedly extremely mad and that she “felt betrayed”. This, alongside many other reasons, prompted Sarah to finally break her ties with Richard and his husband’s family. Again, nothing is confirmed yet, but Annabelle talked about “something that happened in Manila”, to which she gave no clue. To add, she also mentioned that something big is going to be announced soon and that everyone is going to find out the truth. We don’t know what that is but everyone is tuning in.
However, without both camps saying anything, the DNA test allegation still remains a rumor
Once again, this rumor has no credible source but it has been the talk of the town. These are all just rumors, accusations, and allegations. As the judge would say in the presumption of innocence, Annabelle Rama is “innocent until proven guilty”.
But, if it turns out that the rumors circulating on the internet were true, then Netizens were right about dissing Annabelle. Sarah’s fans have been on the former Starstruck champion’s side ever since this fiasco started and it seems it’s still that way. Hopefully, the problem in the Gutierrez family finally gets resolved, but we don’t see Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati getting back together anytime soon.
