Apex Legends: “Tropic Island”, What We Know So Far

As players gear up in anticipation of Season 10 of Apex Legends, new things are being revealed about it. A new map, Tropics, is now the talk of the town. However, this is not the first time that the Tropics map has been mentioned. Data miners had made references about the Tropics map all the way back in Season 5; with speculations that it would be in Season 6, which did not happen. In fact, the name “Tropic Island” originated then when it was first discovered.

Now, as the World’s Edge map is about to have major changes made; maybe even removed altogether! Rumors say that the Tropics map will arrive in Season 10. Leakers also suggest that Tropics could be the first map to have a range of wildlife roaming about for players to kill.

  • Leaker Shrutgal had revealed during a live stream that he had discovered something in the files that point toward roaming Prowlers and spiders in the Tropics map. If AI wildlife does appear in the Tropics, it will give gamers a dynamic PvE element while allowing players to kill monsters for loot.
  • Dataminer Garret has also found references to alien plants and a jungle that sound similar to the spiders and other PvE features. He has also revealed that this map will have its own version of the Tridents, just like in Olympus.

  • There is also speculation as to whether Tropics is actually Gaea, the birthplace of Rampart, Caustic, and Crypto. The planet is yet to be seen in its true form. This speculation is born from the fact that previous in-game comments had referenced Gaea as being inhabitable and suitable for plants to grow.
  • As nothing is official yet, we will have to wait and watch to find out if we are actually going to get a taste of the Tropic Island and its features.
