A recent post on the prominent Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit revealed more details regarding the upcoming arrival of Sumeru, a brand-new major area. Sumeru will appear in Update 3.0, which will be available in August.
Exploring the world is arguably one of Genshin Impact’s biggest draws. Every new region adds something fresh to the game, therefore it’s always thrilling when a new one is coming. From the high mountains of Liyue and Inazuma to the plains of Mondstadt, Genshin Impact provides a vast and diverse universe.

The Sumeru region’s rumored release date backs with rumors that miHoYo intends to introduce a new zone every year. This rumor also confirms the 1.0 update’s release of the Mondstadt and Liyue areas, the game’s release on September 28, 2020, and the 2.0 update’s release of Inazuma on July 21, 2021.
Sumeru will be the game’s fourth region, with four more to follow in the years ahead: Fontaine, Natlan, Snezhnaya, and Khaenri’ah. The game’s timetable for exploring Teyvat is five to eight years.
For its territories, developer miHoYo has previously drawn inspiration from real-world sources. Mondstadt, for example, was influenced by Germany, whilst Liyue and Inazuma were inspired by China and Japan, respectively. Sumeru, on the other hand, appears to be getting inspiration from the Middle Eastern and South Asian countries and territories. Which, would inspire the mythology and ecosystems of the region.
New Element: Dendro
- Each nation in the game revolves around its own Archon and its divine values of order, freedom, and justice, among other things. In Sumeru’s scenario, the God of Wisdom reigns supreme in the pursuit of all knowledge. Sumeru’s Archon is the youngest of the seven Genshin Impact Archons, despite the fact that he is one of the few leaders whose identity is still unknown.
- Furthermore, each nation favors a particular element from which the Archon originates. Sumeru follows the Dendro Archon’s direction, whose powers bring life to the surrounding desert. As a result, when players approach the country, they may expect a very floral and plant-like scene.
The addition of a new element would give the game even more combat variety. This leaves many fans wondering when the Dendro feature would be available to play. Dendro is the only character in the game who has yet to utilize it. Because of the complicated elemental reaction dynamics, introducing a new element could take some time. This element has also been linked to Chasm, a supposed Genshin Impact area. Chasm is in the southwest of Liyue on the in-game map.
