NBA: LeBron James reportedly considering retiring | Rumor or true?

LeBron James considering retiring from NBA

The internet is shaking knowing that at any time now, LeBron James could call it a career. There have been talks that the NBA’s GOAT is already considering retirement. After a devastating loss to the Denver Nuggets, LeBron is feeling detached from the Lakers right now. But, is he really retiring? How true are these rumors?

Rumors are spreading that LeBron James is “unsure” of his future with the Lakers and is already considering retirement

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, he is receiving information from various league sources that LeBron James is unsure if he will be staying with the Los Angeles Lakers next season. The 2023-2024 season will commence this October, and there could be a great chance LeBron will not be wearing purple and gold.

What’s even more heartbreaking is that LeBron James is reportedly making retirement one of his options in the offseason. During the postgame interview after game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, LBJ made a subtle hint about a possible retirement. He said, “I have a lot to think about, to be honest. Just with me personally going forward with the game of basketball.”

Although this revelation is making waves amongst NBA fans, he is still expected to return to Los Angeles. He has two more years left in his contract, and he still has a lot of gas left for Year 21.

In our own opinion, LeBron will probably “not retire”

It’s not unusual for a player to feel sad after losing in the playoffs. For now, it’s obvious that he is detached from the team. The 38-year-old superstar just needs more time to recover after being swept by Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.

Despite the talks of possibly retiring, it does not seem like a thing LeBron would do now. Even at 38, the guy is still averaging MVP numbers. Plus, he can lead a team to win a championship. Although they fell short this year, what he did with the Lakers was unbelievable. From 0.3% of making the playoffs to reaching the Conference Finals is already a great feat on its own.

To add, despite his age (again), he even makes the All-NBA team this season. Moreover, King James has always had the desire to play alongside Bronny. Not on the same court, but on the same team. With that idea, it seems very unlikely that LeBron will hang his jersey in the rafters.

But, if he was to retire now, LeBron James would arguably be the GOAT

The GOAT debate will never finish. But, even haters of LBJ have to accept that, he is undeniably one of the best there is. Having surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s scoring leader as well as breaking tons of records just makes him an all-time great. There are so many things he has already achieved but nothing to prove anymore.

If he really does retire (which we think will not happen yet), LeBron James will go down in history as the best basketball player we have ever seen.

Will this be the last time we’re going to see LeBron in the NBA? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
