The August 2021 PlayStation Plus PS4 / PS5 titles, as well as the free games that players have been anticipating, will be formally revealed on the 28th of July, Wednesday. This has spawned a slew of speculations and predictions, so we’ve compiled a list of what we know so far.
Last month, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Call of Duty Black Ops 4, and WWE 2K Battlegrounds were the free games available from July 6, 2021, to August 2, 2021.
Officially Announced Games
As of now, only one game has been officially announced as the PS Plus free game, i.e., Hunter’s Arena: Legends. It will launch as a PS5 and PS4 console exclusive on August 3rd featuring 30 player PvP and PvE Battle Royale. The Steam version is getting a full release on the same date. It has also been confirmed that there will be cross-play enabled between the PlayStation and PC versions of the game.
Some of the major features of Hunter’s Arena: Legends include five new warriors. It will also have a small map for tighter gameplay, overhauled combat system, a new arena, crossplay, and many others. It will have some competition with other battle royale titles. But, it may as well be able to make its mark by focusing on a non-FPS setting and additional monsters in the environment.
Rumors and Predictions
The three major games which are recurring in almost every other rumor as PS4, PS5 PS Plus Free Games August 2021 Predictions are:
- In Sound Mind (PS5) – In Sound Mind is a psychological horror game that is chock-full of jump scares and brainteasers. It’d be a great entry to PlayStation Plus, and it has the potential to be the scariest PS5 title ever.
- Lemnis Gate (PS4, PS5) – Lemnis Gate is a turn-based strategy game that takes place in a time loop and allows players to act out strategies and pre-emptive tactics before the real-time shooter combat begins. It could really be something very special and might become one of the most innovative and imaginative shooters ever made.
- Tekken 7, 2017 (PS4) – We all know the Tekken series, we all have played Tekken series and we all have grown up with Tekken series. Tekken 7 is just another sequel among your favorite one-on-one fighter series. It has new characters, enhanced visuals, and an improved combat system. It has always been and still is, one of the most popular fighting games out there. So, it will be an amazing addition to PS Plus as well.
As mentioned above, the free games will be announced on Wednesday, July 28 and that is when things will get official. Till then, all we can do is hope!
